Annual leave isn’t the only time-off option available to State of Missouri team members. In fact, the State offers twelve additional types of leave designed to support you through life’s everyday needs, major milestones, and unexpected challenges. These leave options reflect a commitment to supporting team members both at work and beyond. Below is an overview of the additional leave types available. |

-
Sick Leave: Used for personal illness, medical appointments, or caring for an ill family member. Fun fact, at retirement, your unused sick leave can be converted into credited service, in increments of 168 hours, to increase your monthly retirement benefit amount.
-
Personal Wellness Leave: Allows team members to use up to one hour of accrued sick leave per month for personal wellness activities that support overall well-being.
-
Bereavement Leave: Provides time off to grieve and attend services following the death of an eligible family member.
-
Parental Leave: Available to team members following the birth, adoption, or placement of a child.
-
Military Leave: Supports team members who serve in the military by providing job protections and applicable benefits during service.
-
Disaster Relief Leave: Available for team members who are involved in disaster response or recovery efforts.
-

-
Share Leave – Foster Care or Adoption: Allows team members to donate accrued leave to a coworker who is fostering or adopting a child.
-
Share Leave – Catastrophic Illness or Injury: Gives team members the opportunity to donate leave to a colleague facing a serious illness or injury.
-
