Greetings team members,
At the end of this year, OA-ITSD will be removing the option to have phone (SMS or call) Multi-factor Authentication (MFA). Enrollment for phone verification ended on Sept. 13, 2024.
You have been identified as a user who has only phone verification enabled. You must configure a new option prior to the Dec. 31, 2024. The decision to discontinue phone verification is in line with industry best practices, as advised by Okta.
Alternative methods for verification other than phone verification are available here. Team members will be required to use these options starting on Jan. 1, 2025. The following options are available:
- Okta Verify app (preferred and most secure method)
- Google Authenticator app
- RSA Hard Token (consolidated agencies only)
Okta Verify is the preferred and most secure method of MFA and the required MFA option for devices managed by the State. Team members have the option to utilize their State-issued iPhone, or download Okta Verify onto their personal device from the app store. An RSA Hard Token requires a ticket to User Provisioning. To enter a ticket for an RSA Hard Token, team members can go to the ITSD Service Portal and click on Service Catalog > Computer Equipment > VDI > VDI RSA Token Request.
RSA Hard Tokens are available to consolidated team members only.
