Greetings everyone. I hope you all had a relaxing three-day weekend.
With the horrific events that occurred in Kansas City on Wednesday, I want to take a moment to express our deepest sympathies to all those affected by this tragedy. My heart goes out to the victims, their families, and our community during this difficult time.
The first responders and citizens who responded to the senseless tragedy demonstrated true courage and heroism by preventing further injury. Through times like these, it's essential for us to come together in support and solidarity. Please know that we are here for each other, ready to offer support, comfort, and assistance in any way we can.

I want to remind everyone that it is normal for us to experience emotional distress after an event like this. Some may experience anxiety, trouble sleeping, and other depression-like symptoms in response to incidents of mass violence. The Missouri Department of Mental Health provides resources that include, but are not limited to coping with grief, age-related reactions to a traumatic events and parent and teacher support tools for children.
The 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline is a source of support available 24/7 to people in crisis, including people experiencing challenging reactions to disasters. For anyone who is going through a range of emotions, please know that help is available. At any time you can call, text or chat 988 and Missouri988.org.
For state team members who are subscribed to the Missouri Consolidated Health Care Plan (MCHCP), here is a link to the Strive Employer Life and Family (SELF). Subscribers and members of their household can access the SELF program 24 hours a day.
Let's continue to lean on one another for strength and resilience as we navigate through these challenging moments together.

Last week, OA held this year’s State of Missouri Black History Month Celebration. Coordinated by the Office of Equal Opportunity, this year's theme was Black Renaissance, a showcase of the diversity of Black Culture through Arts and Politics. There is a lot of time and effort that goes into planning these statewide events, and it was a truly collaborative effort that incorporated representatives from multiple agencies. This dedication to recognizing the importance of Black History Month is truly commendable and serves as an inspiration to us all. |

Welcome to the 2024 Learning Framework calendar!
This year's theme is Everyday Leadership. We believe you do not need a title to lead, and we reinforce this in the monthly calendar with content for supervising leaders, all leaders, and non-supervising leaders.
Each week, you will find curated content to give you the skills to be a more effective leader, peer, and State of Missouri team member.
New this year is the Statewide Speaker Series, which will be open to team members across all agencies. The series’ topics will follow the monthly themes of the framework. Stay tuned to learn more about the training opportunities for 2024!

In March, we will begin evaluations and upward feedback through ENGAGE 2.0. These conversations are helpful because they allow supervisors and team members to meet and discuss tools for success. Providing feedback is an excellent opportunity to impact performance positively. We recommend viewing the guides below to prep for ENGAGE month.
Also, consider signing up for the upcoming Supervisor Coaching and Upward Feedback training opportunities.
