Team –
The Commissioner consistently talks to us about safety. In this week’s email, he spoke about safety with eyewear and appropriate footwear when you’re working outside around your house. I’m sure you’ve thought about safety on the job, whether it’s making sure your workspace is tidy and free from unnecessary clutter to wearing the appropriate safety gear for the work that you’re doing.
Safety is a key aspect of everything we do in General Services. From helping prevent accidents by using data in Risk Management, to following protocol and wearing the appropriate gear at OA Vehicle Maintenance, you are our biggest asset in so many ways—especially when it comes to workplace safety!
Working safely is everyone’s responsibility. If you see something that appears to be a safety hazard, please speak up. It could be that we are not using the accident and injury data in all of the ways we could to prevent future incidents, or maybe someone is on the “floor” at OA Document Solutions with inappropriate footwear.
Do we need to put a barrier up to prevent someone from accessing a dangerous piece of equipment...maybe there is a tool on the floor that someone could trip over...or is there an accessibility issue that could cause inadvertent injury to a customer or teammate? In any case, you could prevent a major incident or even save someone by simply reporting what you see.
Thanks in advance for speaking up!

Check Out the New GS Logo
As part of General Services' rebranding efforts, leadership is proud to share its brand new logo! While each area within the division is clearly defined with its own unique icon, the overall design brings each section together to form one group—a true representation of our amazing and unique team.
Feel free to begin using the logo where it makes sense for your team, including your email signature.

Coffee with CARO Hits One-Year Mark
Congratulations to the Central Accident Reporting Office (CARO) team on the success of their Coffee with CARO events! The CARO team has had consistent attendance and positive feedback from multiple state agencies. The team strives to keep these sessions brief, to the point and educational.
During last week’s session, CARO received several appreciative comments, including one from a Judiciary manager who wrote, "Thanks again, this info is extremely helpful to be sure we are staying in compliance reporting workplace injuries and ensuring staff's safety."
An attendee from the Missouri Department of Conservation stated, “We really appreciate the mini-meetings!”
Keep up the great work!

Great job, James Porter and Bill Bardwell!
