Governor Parson to Hold Meeting, Press Conference at Truman Medical Center/University Health Regarding Saliva-Based COVID-19 Test
(JEFFERSON CITY, MO) – On Thursday, October 15, Governor Mike Parson will travel to Kansas City to meet with Truman Medical Center/University Health representatives regarding the new saliva-based COVID-19 test. Truman Medical Center/University Health will receive the necessary resources to administer the saliva-based COVID-19 test in the Kansas City area.
In August, the Food and Drug Administration approved the saliva-based COVID-19 test that was developed by Washington University researchers here in Missouri. Truman Medical Center/University Health will be one of the facilities in Missouri to administer the test to the public.
Governor Parson will be joined by MO HealthNet Director Todd Richardson and Truman Medical Center/University Health representatives at a press conference following the meeting.
