As recovery efforts throughout the State of Missouri continue, FEMA has now established a Joint Field Office in Jefferson City for coordination of both Individual Assistance and Public Assistance, made available as a result of the federal disaster declaration. They will continue their widespread outreach efforts in communities and home improvement stores throughout the impacted areas to encourage registration for assistance.  

Also, SEMA will host regional Applicant Briefings for local officials to explain and formally begin the application process for Public Assistance beginning on Monday, June 19. Forty-six counties were included in the federal disaster declaration for Public Assistance, which assists local governments and certain nonprofits with expenses related to damage to roads, bridges, public infrastructure and emergency response costs. Additionally, following the federal disaster declaration, which unlocked federal funding for those affected by flooding and severe storms, more than 1,000 FEMA assistance applications have been approved. • More than $24.4 million has been paid to Missouri flood survivors through the National Flood Insurance Program. Forty-two percent of 1,283 claims filed by policyholders have been closed using expedited processing.
• The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has approved over $1.4 million in low-interest disaster loans. 
• A total of nine FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) are open as of Friday, June 16, 2017, in Carter, Franklin, Howell, Jefferson, McDonald, Newton, Phelps Ripley and Taney counties. Please note, some DRCs will soon be closing so FEMA staff can serve additional flood survivors in recovery centers opening in other areas affected by flooding. • FEMA-contracted inspectors have completed more than 1,700 inspections of flood-damaged residences, a requirement of the assistance program. 
• Repair and rebuilding tips are being offered by FEMA mitigation specialists at some home improvement stores through noon on Tuesday, June 20. Check the Missouri Recovery portal, Recovery.mo.gov, for locations and hours. 
• The Division of Employment Security submitted a funding request for FEMA DR-4317 (the official designation for the April 28-May 11 Missouri disaster) for Disaster Unemployment Insurance. To date, $5,000 Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) benefit payments have been paid.
• DOLIR’s Division of Employment Security (DES) has 402 claimants indicating job loss due to flooding, which is an increase of three since last week’s report.
• While the majority of claimants filing for benefits qualify under the regular unemployment insurance system, 12 are being considered for DUA.    
• Twenty-seven unemployment claims have been backdated due to flooding to allow payment of benefits. 
• Community Mental Health Centers (CMHCs) serving the counties included in the federal disaster declaration for Individual Assistance are providing information and services at many of the FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers.
• The Family Support Division assisted 153 households with Disaster Food Stamp Applications as of June 13, 2017. 
• As of May 31, the Adult Abuse & Neglect Hotline received a total of 31 hotlines directly related to flooding issues. Adult Protective Services staff responded to these reports and assisted the flood victims with their needs.
