Abigail Bowling: On the Fast Track
Abigail Bowling faced several barriers to employment and financial stability. First, she needed to obtain her driver’s license—a vital tool for getting to and maintaining a job. She was also dealing with mental health concerns, which she feared might interfere with her ability to find and keep employment. Additionally, Abigail knew she needed a strong skill set to secure a stable career.
Equus Workforce Solutions and her Career Coach, Dan, helped reduce the barriers to gain employment. Dan connected her with a mental health professional at a local health organization, enrolled her in Adult Driver’s Education courses, and helped her sign up for a Phlebotomy course through MedCertify. While Dan provided the resources and guidance, it was Abigail’s determination and hard work that led her to complete the Phlebotomy program five months early!
Building on that momentum—and with continued support from Equus Workforce Solutions and Dan—Abigail is now focused on finding meaningful work caring for others. She’s excited to start working to support herself and her family, and is grateful to Equus Workforce Solutions for helping her find the resources to take control of her future.
