Claudine Rulopugh: I'm Glowing Now
When Claudine’s husband left, she was devastated, had no income, was struggling to live without water, and had rental payments due for the trailer she was living in.
Claudine began receiving Temporary Assistance (TA) benefits and was referred to the Missouri Work Assistance (MWA) program, where MERS Goodwill Missouri assisted her in creating a plan to move forward with her life. She also met and worked with a MWA financial coach to create a budget and steps towards financial stability. The MWA program staff and Claudine met challenge after challenge, but Claudine finally overcame them all with the support of community resources, such as, the Society of St. Vincent De Paul and MERS Goodwill.
Claudine's housing was relocated, and she received assistance to perform repairs on the trailer. Claudine continues to achieve her goals of becoming financially stable and independent. Claudine was asked if her friends have noticed anything different about her, and she shared, "Everyone who was friends with me before the assistance, says I'm better and glowing now".
