The Missouri Department of Natural Resources' staff continues to provide assistance and guidance to flood-stricken communities.

The department's Disaster Resources webpage -- http://dnr.mo.gov/disaster.htm – provides fact sheets to aid in recovering from recent floods, and reporting any potential hazardous substance containers or propane tanks that have been affected by the flooding.

Current Boil Water Advisories and Orders - Public Water Systems

Residents should contact their water system directly to determine if a boil water advisory has been issued. Boil water advisories are a precautionary public notice issued by public water systems if conditions at the system demonstrate a potential threat to public health. Boil water orders are issued by the department and order public water systems to notify their customers about the threat to public health. Find current boil water orders at http://dnr.mo.gov/env/wpp/boil/index.html.

In addition, if any area has lost water pressure for any period of time, residents should boil their water for drinking for three minutes. Residents should continue boiling their water until notified that samples have been taken proving the water is safe to drink.

If residents need additional information or cannot reach their water supply representative, call the department’s Public Drinking Water Branch at 800-361-4827 or 573-751-5331 or your nearest regional office:
