Spokespeople needed: DHSS’ multimedia, PR and influencer campaign “The Big Risk,” is back in market and continuing through November 2025. This campaign encourages Missourians to understand how healthy habits can add years to your life and decrease risk of chronic disease. In addition to paid multimedia, we have a public relations component which gains us access to prime broadcast opportunities to talk about healthy lifestyle choices, often tied to awareness days, weeks, months. An example with DHSS Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Heidi Miller, is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2lZQ1xKJLs8
We are hoping to expand our list of spokespeople so we can reach more corners of the state with this messaging. Would you or a colleague be interested in being called upon for these opportunities? Talking points would be provided by DHSS and our vendor in advance. Topics could be anything from sun/skin protection to limiting sugary drinks to smoking cessation (and much more). You don’t have to be comfortable with ALL topics. We are looking for people willing to be on camera (or on radio) in the markets of Springfield/Branson, Joplin, Jefferson City/Columbia, Kirksville/NE MO, Cape/SE MO, Kansas City and St. Louis. If you have any interest in this opportunity and have a topic(s) you are passionate about, please email Lisa Cox.
All In Meeting: The agenda for the July 30-31 All In meeting in Jefferson City includes a communications update. What are you most interested in hearing about? What communications challenges are you facing? What resources would be helpful? Please share your thoughts in this one-question poll.
