P20W Outreach
The P20W team has had several opportunities to share progress and insights in recent months. P20W Research Director Jeremy Kintzel shared a panel at the Coleridge Annual National Conference in Washington, D.C. The panel shared our experiences in working toward responsible data governance, data sharing, and an integrated P20W data system.
At the Apprenticeship Missouri Summit in April at State Fair Community College in Sedalia, Director Kintzel shared new insights into employment and wages, completions, and co-enrollment in colleges and universities for registered apprenticeships.

Outcomes for Apprentices
Concurrent with the Apprenticeship Missouri Summit, the P20W team also released Completion and Workforce Outcomes for Missouri Apprentices, which explores new insights and indicates that Missourians experience strong wage growth after completing an apprenticeship.
Completers are more likely to remain employed than non-completers, and top-earning apprenticeships five years after completion included substation electricians ($147,199), welder-fitters ($142,479), maintenance machine repairers ($122,211), maintenance electricians ($120,535), and line installers ($116,244). In addition, wages are generally higher for Missourians who completed their training.
More P20W Progress
-
An updated data sharing and data governance agreement is now circulating for signatures. MDHEWD and its state agency partners are in the process of formalizing a new multi-year agreement that will incorporate processes for review and approval of new P20W project requests, both from state staff and approved external researchers.
-
The P20W team continues to work with the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) on the Success Ready Students project, which will explore new measures of college and career readiness for school improvement and accountability, including graduates’ employment and wage outcomes. DESE and partners re-convened in April, have finalized data sharing agreements, and are working toward new data linkages to support the project.
-
P20W team members contributed their expertise to several other important MDHEWD initiatives, including work in support of Governor Kehoe’s executive order on artificial intelligence, and developing a framework for approval of the first programs in Missouri to be eligible for the Workforce Pell Grant.
-
Staff continue improvements and refinements to P20W data, including industry and geography in wage record data and ongoing cleanup of outdated and unused tables. Accurate and streamlined data supports high-quality and efficient analysis by the P20W team and our partners.
