House Passes Bill Regarding Transfer Practices in Higher Education
Last Monday, the House third read and passed HB 2310. Sponsored by Rep. Cameron Parker (R-Campbell), HB 2310 modifies the Higher Education Core Curriculum Transfer Act. The bill requires the CBHE, with the assistance of an advisory committee, to approve 60-credit-hour transferable lower-division courses for at least five degree programs with substantial enrollment. The courses must be approved by June 30, 2026, for implementation for the 2027-28 academic year for all public institutions of higher education. The Senate first read HB 2310 later on Monday.
Other Updates:
The House Rules-Regulatory Oversight Committee, chaired by Rep. Kurtis Gregory (R-Marshall), reported HB 2278 do pass. HB 2278, sponsored by Rep. Dane Diehl (R-Butler), increases the income thresholds for eligibility of the Fast Track Workforce Incentive Grant.
