House Budget Committee Completes Budget Markup
On Monday, March 25, the House Budget Committee, chaired by Rep. Cody Smith (R-Carthage), completed markup of HBs 2002-2013, 2015, and 2017-2020 and voted the bills do pass. Next week, the bills will be perfected with a limit of six hours total debate on perfection.

- On March 26, the Senate Select Committee on Empowering Missouri Parents and Children, chaired by Sen. Curtis Trent (R-Republic), voted SB 1056 do pass. SB 1056, sponsored by Sen. Rusty Black (R-Chillicothe), increases the income thresholds for eligibility of the Fast Track Workforce Incentive Grant.
- On March 27, the House Emerging Issues Committee, chaired by Rep. Bill Hardwick (R-Dixon), voted HCS for HB 2499 do pass. HB 2499, sponsored by Rep. Jeff Farnan (R-Stanberry), modifies provisions governing eligibility for the A+ Scholarship Program.
- The House Higher Education Committee, chaired by Rep. Brenda Shields (R-St. Joseph), voted HCS for HB 2905 do pass. Sponsored by Rep. Brenda Shields, HB 2905 modifies provisions governing funding for higher education. The committee voted HCS for HB 1997 do pass as well. HB 1997, sponsored by Rep. Doug Mann (D- Columbia), requires public institutions of higher education to have opioid overdose rescue kits available for public use on campus.
