Those interested in
getting into this lifetime sport have both afternoon and evening class options.
DEFIANCE,
Mo.—Archery is a sport that helps develop focus, discipline, and
coordination. It’s an activity that can
be enjoyed for a lifetime of target shooting.
Archers can also embrace the challenges of archery hunting, offering
them special time and opportunities to pursue deer and other game.
To help newcomers get started, the Missouri Department of
Conservation (MDC) is offering both afternoon and
evening Archery Basics classes Tuesday, July 10. Participants can choose from identical
classes offered either 3-5 p.m., or 6-8 p.m. at the new August A. Busch
Shooting Range and Outdoor Education Center.
This program will introduce the fundamentals for safely and
successfully shooting a compound bow, followed by hands on practice. All archery
equipment will be provided. Class will meet at the archery range located at the
Busch Shooting Range.
The classes are free and open for ages nine and up. However, participants under 16 must be

Route D in Defiance, approximately five miles west of Highway 94.
