2017 MoNASP State Tournament
Greetings! I hope you enjoyed your summer break and
are back into the swing of things at school. MoNASP currently has 581
schools participating this school year and we continue to grow!
The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) has partnered with
the Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation (MCHF) to help promote and grow
the MoNASP State Tournament. With MCHF’s assistance, we are moving the location
of the tournament to the Branson Convention Center to accommodate greater
participation at the 2017 MoNASP State Tournament. We will be able to
accommodate more than 2,200 archers this year compared to 1,450 from last
year. We are currently working with the Branson Convention and Visitors
Bureau on best hotel deals in the area, which I will pass along as soon as more
information is available.
The official rules for this season will be available by Sept. 1 at http://short.mdc.mo.gov/ZoW. Please note
that there are four tiers again this year. Tier four is for any archer or team
that post any score at a qualifying tournament. There is no guarantee that
tier-four archers will get into the tournament as they are a first come, first
served, and are only allowed to register on the last day of registration, if
spots are still available. Also, please note there are major changes in
the scoring protocol.
MoNASP Rule Reminders
Qualifying scores will be required this year to be eligible for participation in the 2017 MoNASP State Tournament.
The MoNASP State Tournament will be held March 24-25, 2017, at the Branson Convention Center in Branson, Mo. http://www.bransoncc.com/
All qualifying tournaments must be listed on the NASP Tournaments web site: www.nasptournaments.org
There must be at least two schools participating in the qualifying tournament.
You must use the NASP Pro online scoring software provided by NASP.
The tournament must obey the state tournament rules with the exception of the awards section. It will be up to each tournament’s organizers to decide what awards, if any, will be given out.
All dates for qualifying tournaments must be sent to Eric Edwards at MDC and posted on the NASP tournament website no later than February 15, 2017.
Instructions for listing a tournament and using the scoring software can be found at www.nasptournaments.org
You will need to have an Apperson 1200 scanner in order to post the tournament scores online. If you do not have this scanner, a few may be loaned from MDC through your local Outdoor Skills Specialist. To find out who your Outdoor Skills Specialist is, go to the “Contact & Engage” link at www.mdc.mo.gov.
All qualifying scores must be posted by 11:59pm CST on March 5, 2017.
Pre-registration is March 6-7, 2017.
Registration dates are as follows: Tier 1 March 13, Tier 2 March 14, Tier 3 March 15 and Tier 4 March 16, 2017.
A qualifying score gives the archer the opportunity to pre-register for the state tournament. It does not guarantee them a spot in the tournament.
When flights are full, registration closes.

The official MoNASP State Tournament Rules
will be available by Sept. 1 at http://short.mdc.mo.gov/ZoW.
If you have any questions about the rules or hosting a tournament, please feel
free to contact me via email. I would recommend any team or archery who is
interested in qualifying for the MoNASP State Tournament to attend as many
qualifying events as possible. Delaying participation in qualifying tournaments
could result in a missed opportunity as winter weather in Missouri can become
unpredictable.
Thank you
for supporting MDC and MoNASP! Good luck to everyone with your MoNASP programs.
