Description: The Outdoor Living Skills Specialist is responsible for developing and teaching nature, outdoor education, and outdoor living skills activities to campers. Specialist will monitor campers’ skill levels and implement methods of progression and rewarding achievements. This position manages supplies and equipment and works with staff to develop camp programs. Specialist will provide supervision to campers during after-camp program.

Job Title: Summer Camp Tanadoona Healthcare Manager (Camp Nurse)

Description: 

• Inventory and order supplies as needed for health office.
• Schedule trainings throughout the summer to continue to reinforce counselor’s accountability for the safety of
  campers.
• Reviews health needs of all campers prior to each session. Create health plans as needed.
• Conducts staff in-service training, teaching topics including camper and staff health and safety (blood borne
  pathogens, life-threatening allergies, chronic health conditions) and health office procedures
• Communicates camper health needs to staff on an as needed basis before camper arrives.

Wage: $1,000 to $1,200 per week.

The Minneapolis Afterschool Network began as an initiative of the Minneapolis Youth Coordinating Board in 2014. It’s mission is to build up and sustain a citywide network of afterschool champions who increase access to high-quality afterschool and summer programming that keeps Minneapolis children and youth safe, inspired to learn, and prepared for the future. The Minneapolis Afterschool Network acts as a coordinating entity between public jurisdictional partners, nonprofit organizations, and community leaders to strengthen the field of youth work by:

• Increasing champions and advocating for equitable access to afterschool and summer programs.
• Improving the quality and strength of afterschool and summer programs.
• Collaborating and coordinating with nonprofit youth-serving organizations, schools, government, and youth to use resources more effectively.
