Swearing-in ceremonies set for two incoming County Board members
The St. Louis County Board in 2017 will include two new commissioners and two recently re-elected members. Each of these commissioners is responsible to take the oath of office prior to the first County Board meeting of the year, and is given flexibility to arrange a ceremony that will be meaningful to him or her. Details for the two incoming commissioners are as follows:
Commissioner-elect Beth Olson, who will represent the 3rd District of West Duluth, will be sworn in Thursday, December 15, at 5:30 p.m. at the Iron Mug Coffee Shop, 1096 88th Avenue West in Morgan Park. St. Louis County Attorney Mark Rubin, a Morgan Park native, will administer the oath of office.
Commissioner-elect Mike Jugovich will be sworn in Monday, January 2, at 6 p.m. at Chisholm City Hall, 316 Lake Street West in Chisholm. Commissioner Keith Nelson will administer the oath of office. Jugovich will represent the 7th District, which spans the southwest corner of the County, from Hibbing and Chisholm to Floodwood.
Commissioners Patrick Boyle and Pete Stauber both won re-election in their respective districts, and will announce details of their swearing in ceremonies at a later date. The first County Board meeting of the year will be January 3, 2017, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the St. Louis County Courthouse in Duluth.
