Parents of Scott Christensen plead for help to close case
The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office, along with the parents of Scott Christensen, are asking the public for help in identifying the person and vehicle that struck and killed the 24-year-old Aurora man last month. Investigators and the victim's mother, Rita Licari, held a news conference to ask anyone with information about the accident or who knows anyone who may have traveled on Highway 100 near Palo between 1:30 and 4 a.m. on Sunday, October 2, to please call 9-1-1.
"Our hearts our severely broken," said Licari, who referred to Scott as the miracle baby she never thought she'd have. "We understand this was an accident, but are pleading for someone to come forward. Please give closure both to us and to yourself."
Christensen was found dead in the roadway at 3600 Highway 100 on Sunday, October 2, around 4 a.m. The accident scene is slightly more than a mile away from his father's home, which he had left around 1:15 a.m. to go for a walk.
"We do believe this was an accident," said Sgt. Steve Borchers of the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office. "The person may have thought they struck an animal. But please help the family and help this investigation come to a close."
