Storm debris drop-off sites to remain open two additional weeks
The two tree debris drop-off sites opened by St. Louis County following the devastating storm of July 21, will remain open through August 21, two weeks longer than originally announced, in order to meet the continuing need of residents who are clearing downed trees and branches from their property.
The two locations are:
Arnold Pit – 6230 Arnold Road (County Road 675) in Gnesen Township on the east side of Arnold Road, approximately half mile north of Emerson Road.
Taft Pit – 6350 Munger Shaw Road (County State Aid Highway 15) in Grand Lake Township on the west side of Munger Shaw Road, approximately half mile north of the Lost Lake Road (County Road 974) and the CN Railroad Crossing.

Hours of operation at the two sites remain the same: 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily. Signs are posted at each location. Both sites are self-service for drop off of tree debris.No other yard waste, household items, construction debris or garbage is allowed.
St. Louis County also is opening a third gravel pit to serve as a drop-off site. The Skala pit on Highway 21 south of Ely opens Friday, August 5, and will remain open until further notice.
