Exchange students enjoy their first snow fall

We often take many everyday things for granted - even snow! Three foreign exchange students at Stillwater Area High School - Fatoumata Diallo, Jimena Morales and Yunita Erniajan - had never seen snow before and were thrilled when the first flakes flew!

What a great reminder on this Thanksgiving weekend to stop for a moment and enjoy the beautiful things in life.

One snow day down, one to go before Flex Days kick in

The early winter snowstorm that closed schools on Wednesday marked the first official snow day of the year. That means we'll have just one more snow day in play before our new Flexible Learning Days, or Flex Days,  kick in. Flex Days are intended to keep students learning when school is cancelled due to inclement weather. Flex Days will be activated after the second snow day of the year. Just like with a regular snow day, families will be notified by the district when a Flex Day is called. Learn more about Flex Days online.

Board to vote on funding for Brookview expansion

A decision on how to fund the proposed expansion of Brookview Elementary is expected to be made as part of the Tuesday, Dec. 19 school board meeting, which will begin at 6 p.m. at the Central Services Building in Stillwater.

At that time, the board will decide whether it wants to utilize non-voter approved lease levy dollars to fund the project or wait to consider including the project as part of a future voter-approved bond referendum. Read more.
