Students build construction skills

Students at Stillwater Area High School are getting real-world, hands on experience in the construction trades. They are busy repairing a damaged ice fishing house for a class and learning valuable life skills that some hope will lead to a job. Watch the video.

Good news for district taxpayers!

The school district has refinanced some of its debt, which will result in hundreds of thousands of dollars in savings. These savings will be passed on to district taxpayers. The school board adopted a resolution to award the sale of the Refunding Certificates of Participation (COP). The COPs were originally issued in 2011 to fund construction of the Early Child Family Center. By refinancing, the district taxpayers will save $827,493 over the remainder of the COP term.

The annual study takes a comprehensive look at student enrollment, including retention and enrollment history. It also analyzes where all eligible school-age students in the district attend school. Read more.

Mark your calendar for the 2020-2021 school year

The school board has approved a calendar for the 2020-2021 school year. The calendar was created by a committee of teachers, staff, parents and a student, and was based on feedback gathered by the community.

The calendar has a pre-Labor Day start with school starting the week of August 31, 2020. Dates will be staggered again to allow for Ready, Set, Go conferences at the elementary schools and orientation days for new middle and high school students. The last day of school for all students will be Thursday, June 3, 2021 and graduation will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021. View the 2020-2021 calendar.
