Students head back to school this week for schedule pick-up

middle school principal and student

We're looking forward to welcoming our middle school and high school students back to school this week as they stop in to pick up their schedules, find their lockers and classrooms, and reconnect with friends. Check your school's website for more details and specific dates and times.

Emergency cards are going paperless

This year we’re skipping the paper and requesting families provide emergency information about your child online. When you login to Skyward Family Access, you’ll be asked to verify your address and contact information, update the individuals listed as emergency contacts, and provide any important health information about your child, such as medical conditions, allergies or medications. As part of the new Annual Required Forms process in Skyward, you’ll also be asked to complete the new state-required ethnicity form and sign-off that you’ve reviewed the district handbook

Students spend part of their summer creating works of art

AVID art course

More than 40 AVID students from Stillwater Area High School and Park High School (in Cottage Grove) spent two weeks together studying visual arts and earning credit toward graduation.

They created a wide variety of art projects in mediums including drawings, paintings, collages, ceramic, packing tape, and wire sculptures. They also reflected on their artistic process through writing.

Their peers assessed their work at the end of this intense visual arts class. On the final day of class the students curated their own show and invited district administration and AVID teachers to see all their hard work.
