Learning goes on all summer long!

summer success

Just because it's summer doesn't mean the learning has ended! Hundreds of students are taking part in the Extended School Year (ESY) at Oak-Land Middle School and Summer Success at Andersen Elementary.

Students with special needs are taking part in a variety of fun and interactive learning opportunities through the ESY program.

Summer Success is giving 245 elementary students going in to grades 1 through 6 the opportunity to practice their math and reading skills in engaging ways. They're studying things like bugs and jungle animals to biomes and ocean life.

Celebrate your Pony Pride at Lumberjack Days

lumberjack days parade

Join us in downtown Stillwater during Lumberjack Days! We'll have some fun activities for kids on Friday and Saturday from
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Find us at the community tent in North Lowell Park.

And be sure to look for us at the Lumberjack Days Parade on Sunday, July 21 at 1 p.m. Come cheer on our students as they show their school spirit! They'll walk along the parade route from Washington Square to Pioneer Park handing out Pony Pride items along the way. Go Ponies!

School board to extend open forum at July 19 meeting

In response to community feedback, the school board is expected to expand the open forum time at the July 25 meeting to allow for up to 40 speakers to speak for two minutes. If it appears many more people still want to address the board, board members will consider extending the open forum at the Aug. 8 meeting as well.

As always, anyone can contact board members to share concerns or set up a time to meet individually or in small groups. Contact information is available online.
