Colombian exchange students visit Stillwater

Colombian students

A group of students and teachers from Colombia visited Stillwater last week. The 15 students and two teachers stayed with host families from Stillwater Area High School and Oak-Land Middle School. The visit allowed both sets of students to make connections with each other, learn about a different culture, and of course, practice a foreign language.

The Colombian students followed their host students to class during the school day, performed traditional dances for them, and after school visited local sights. The students, who ranged in age from 12 to 16 years old, attend Reuven Feuerstein, a private school in Bogotá.

Mr. and Mrs. Ernest W. Stanley are thrilled when Sheridan Whiteside, a brilliant, witty, and widely beloved radio celebrity, accepts their invitation to dinner on his tour through their little town of Mesalia, Ohio. However, when Whiteside injures himself by slipping on a piece of ice on their doorstep, and is confined to their home for the better part of December, the Stanleys are not so pleased with the change in their household.

National School Lunches Week

school lunch worker

In celebration of National School Lunches Week (October 12-16) we recognized our Nutrition Services Department. Our cooks work hard to provide meals that are not only nutritious, but tasty as well.

We know that healthy meals are essential to helping students learn. Breakfast and lunch are served at all of our buildings and we offer all-you-can-eat fresh fruits and vegetables – some of which come to us fresh from local farms. And thanks to state funding, all kindergarten students eat breakfast FREE!
