Stanford University's d.school comes to Stillwater

d.school

More than 120 area teachers and school leaders took to the streets of downtown Stillwater as part of a design thinking conference hosted by Stillwater Area Public Schools. The deep dive was part of the first-ever partnership between a midwestern school district and Stanford University’s d.school. Read more on our website.

Help local students have a great start to their school year

stuff the bus

You can donate new school supplies July 9-August 3 to support the Stuff the Bus initiative. Top supplies requested include headphones (not earbuds), calculators, sanitizer wipes and zip lock bags. Please click here for a complete list of requested school supplies and drop off locations.

You can also donate online at www.uwwce.org/donate. Make sure to designate your donation to Stuff the Bus!

Volunteers are needed to pack supplies at Stillwater Area High School on August 7 from 5-6:30pm. Stop by for as little as 5 minutes or stay the entire time. The event is open to the public on a drop-in basis, so there’s no need to pre-register.

Stuff the Bus is offered by Community Thread and United Way of Washington County-East.

Free summer meals for kids and teens

Free Lunch

Free summer meals will be offered at Andersen Elementary school beginning July 16. Children ages 2-18 years are invited to eat free breakfast and lunch thanks to special federal funding. Meals are currently available at Lily Lake Elementary. The goal of this program is to make sure all youth in our community have access to nutritious meals while school is out for the summer. Families will not be asked to fill out any paperwork and no names will be taken – kids just need to show up to eat! See menus, date and times online.

Into the Woods

Into the Woods

The Brothers Grimm hit the Community Theatre stage with an epic fairytale about wishes, family and the choices we make.

James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim take everyone's favorite storybook characters and bring them together for a timeless, yet relevant, piece...and a rare modern classic. The Tony Award-winning book and score are both enchanting and touching.

Into the Woods is rated PG-13 for themes and language – Parental Guidance Suggested
