Half-way there! Semester 1 comes to an end

It's hard to believe the school year is already half over. Semester 1 came to an end on Friday, and many secondary students will begin new courses when they come back to school next Wednesday.

Check out how a real-life final exam at the high school turned students into reporters.

Remember there is no school on Monday and Tuesday. Teachers will be finalizing grades on Monday and entering information into report cards. Watch for Semester 1 report cards coming soon.

Days off for students means time for staff to learn

Students will be off of school on Monday and Tuesday of this week, but their teachers will be hard at work!

On Tuesday, teachers and staff will be taking part in a variety of professional development opportunities. Some of the topics include collaboration through professional learning communities, strategies for improving literacy instruction, and cultural competency. High school staff will even have the opportunity to hear from a panel of their own students who will be talking about their experiences of learning and belonging at SAHS.

Make sure your voice has been heard!

More than 2,000 community members have weighed in with their ideas of what a Stillwater graduate should look like. It’s all part of of a community-wide effort to define the Portrait of a Graduate, an important document that will be the foundation of the school district’s next strategic plan.

Check out these videos to learn more about why we need to change.

DaVinci Fest 2018 was another huge success

Thousands of people attended DaVinci Fest last weekend, including state Senator Amy Klobuchar. Fairgoers were able to view student-created science and art displays, interact at dozens of educational exhibits, and watch demonstrations and performances. There were even droids and characters from Star Wars along with a Pony Pride selfie station. Check out a photo gallery on Facebook.

Congratulations to all of our amazing students who displayed their science and art projects. View the list of winners online
