What's happening with attendance boundaries?

The district is planning to move forward with the boundary changes approved by the school board in May 2016. The approved plan is based on grade configuration changes, the sale of Valley Crossing Community School and the closure of Marine, Oak Park, and Withrow. Families will be receiving a letter notifying them of their new school assignments prior to Thanksgiving, as well as their enrollment options for the coming year.

contingency elementary boundary plan approved by the board last week would only take affect in the event the school closure decision is overturned. If that happened and the contingency plan needed to be implemented, families would be notified of any changes to their enrollment options.

NOTE: A decision on contingency boundaries for middle schools was delayed based on concerns raised by Rutherford and Andersen families regarding the feeder system. The boundary committee will reconvene in December to discuss the middle school contingency boundaries.

More boundary information is available at stillwaterschools.org/boundary2017.

Students to benefit from ALC move to the high school

The St. Croix Area Learning Center (ALC) will be re-locating to the high school at the start of the 2017-2018 school year. ALC students will have their own area within the high school, while benefiting from the many support staff and student programs available within the larger high school community. This move will allow students more access to support services, like hot breakfast and lunch options, on-site nutrition/mental/chemical health support, academic counseling and more. ALC students will also have more options for course electives.
