Minnesota Department of Revenue

Since the end of the 2019 Legislative Session, the Minnesota Department of Revenue has been working to update the state tax filing systems to reflect changes made to Minnesota’s tax laws. During this annual process, we are updating forms and gathering your frequently asked questions about changes that were passed into law for tax years 2017 and 2018.

We have updated our website’s FAQs page today (July 23, 2019) with answers to some of these questions.

We have also posted final draft forms for tax year 2017 and 2018.

We will continue providing further guidance, resources, and answers to FAQs we’ve received as they become available on our Tax Law Changes webpage and by notifying you through these Tax Law Changes email updates.

Note: For tax year 2019, we will follow our usual timeframes for publication of forms, vendor certification and testing, and opening filing season. View the timeline for 2019.
