Greetings, District 2!
As we transition from the vibrant days of summer to the crisp, colorful embrace of fall, I hope this message finds you well. September has been a month full of community events, important discussions, and exciting developments in our county. From the Roseville Area Wild Rice Festival to our Ramsey County budget presentations, there’s been no shortage of activity.
I am grateful for the opportunity to serve such a dynamic and engaged community. Your participation and feedback are invaluable as we work together to make Ramsey County an even better place to live, work, and play.
Since counties are the unit of government that administers Election's, we are already immersed in the election season. I encourage you to continue reading to learn more about your local and Presidental Election voting options.
Warm regards,
Mary Jo

Project Heat's On
Lieutenant Govenor Peggy Flanagan, state and local labor union leaders, elected officials, and CAPRW leadership.
Project HEAT’s ON is a volunteer effort that was started in 1986 to service and repair the furnaces of elderly, disabled, and low-income homeowners. This will be the 31st year that hundreds of volunteer pipefitters from St. Paul Local #455, Minneapolis Local #539, and Rochester Local #6 work together with members of the Minnesota Mechanical Contractors Association (MMCA) to provide the needy with furnace repairs. It’s this cooperative effort with labor volunteering their skills and contractors donating the use of their trucks and parts that allow this program to continue.
Union volunteers provide service to homeowners identified by two Community Action Partnership agencies, and union contractors, members of the Minnesota Mechanical Contractors Association, cover the cost of materials needed for the repairs. This program helps community members, reduces the cost for government programs and since its beginning, pipefitters and contractors in Minnesota have volunteered over 32,098 hours, helped 7,447 homeowners at an estimated value of $3,438,200.
The "Heat’s On” program, serves families in need identified by the Community Action Partnership of Ramsey and Washington Counties (CAPRW), focuses on providing energy assistance to residents in need. This program is crucial, especially during the harsh Minnesota winters, ensuring that households have access to affordable, continuous, and safe utility services. The program includes:
- Bill Payment Assistance
- Energy Crisis Intervention
- Weatherization Services
- Energy Advocacy and Education
