Greetings, District 2!
As we enjoy the last stretch of summer, there are still exciting opportunities to look forward to in our community to mark on your calendar.
Minnesota State Fair: The Great Minnesota Get-Together takes place from August 22 to September 2. With its famous food, rides, exhibits, and entertainment, the State Fair is a must-visit event. Be sure to check out the new attractions and classic favorites.
Community Spotlight: Local Farmers Markets Support local farmers and enjoy fresh produce by visiting our nearby farmers markets. The Farmers Market's in Roseville, New Brighton, Lauderdale, St. Anthony Village and Little Canada offer a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, and homemade goods. It’s a great way to eat healthy and support our local economy.
We hope to see you at these events and more as we continue to celebrate the vibrant community of District 2. Stay safe, stay active, and enjoy the rest of your summer!
My office is always available to serve constituent needs via phone (651-266-8359) or email (maryjo.mcguire@co.ramsey.mn.us). Please reach out if you have any questions or requests!

A special election will be conducted to fill her seat, but until the end of 2024, Commissioner Victoria Reinhardt will assume the role of Board Chair.

New County Manager!
Following an extensive national search, the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners has selected Ling Becker to be the next county manager.
"We are thrilled to announce Ling Becker as the next county manager," said Board Chair Trista Martinson. "Her passion, commitment, and clear vision for the future were unmatched throughout the hiring process. It was clear to the entire board that Ling is exactly what the county needs in this next chapter to ensure that we are supporting staff and providing the highest quality of services to community."
"Counties are vital in improving the lives and well-being of our residents. This is at the very core of my being as an immigrant who relied on government support when my family first established itself here and as a long-time public servant," said Ling Becker. "These past few years have been challenging and Ramsey County has stepped up in unprecedented ways. I am honored and excited to energize our amazing employees for this next chapter by highlighting the importance of their work and empowering them to make a meaningful difference in collaboration with our community. Only together can we harness our collective potential to build a more prosperous Ramsey County, where everyone is valued and has the opportunity to thrive."

All-Abilities 2050 Transportation Plan
The All-Abilities 2050 Transportation Plan has drafted project priorities, but did we get it right? We heard projects should be prioritized based on safety, pedestrian and bicycle improvements, service to historically underserved communities and improvement of pavement quality.
