Whether you choose to embrace the great outdoors, embark on a family vacation, or engage in local festivities, I encourage you to savor these precious moments and create lasting memories with your loved ones.

While we indulge in the pleasures of the season, it is crucial to remain mindful of the importance of community engagement and involvement. Our district thrives when we actively participate in its growth and development. E&L Pic1E&L Pic2

I attended the launch of the inaugural E3L cohort. It was exciting to celebrate and support the youth as they begin their journey.

During the 6 month cohort, youth will engage in an intensive training around video production, photography and storytelling. They will also be provided with experiential learning opportunities and the skills necessary to be ready for business world. Additionally youth will be provided with therapy to support their personal development. The work they produce will be used by Road Trip Nation and Ramsey County to engage youth to seek options in the various workforces. Youth will be provided with technology equipment, high end office space and access to leaders both in the entrepreneurial and workforce spaces. This will be the first of six cohorts that will run from June 2023 - December 2026.

Subject: Empowering Mental Health Support

The Vail House is an exceptional facility that offers invaluable resources and support to individuals facing mental health challenges.

As I stepped inside the Vail Clubhouse, I was immediately struck by its warm and welcoming environment. The space was thoughtfully designed to provide a safe and inclusive setting, enabling individuals to connect, share experiences, and support one another. The vibrant atmosphere was filled with a genuine sense of camaraderie and encouragement.

The range of services and resources available at the Vail Clubhouse is truly remarkable. From structured educational programs and employment opportunities to social activities and personalized support, they have created a comprehensive framework that addresses various aspects of mental health. It was heartening to witness individuals actively engaging in meaningful activities, rediscovering their talents, and rebuilding their lives with renewed confidence.

During my tour, I had the opportunity to speak with several members of the Vail Clubhouse community. Their stories were both inspiring and humbling, underscoring the importance of destigmatizing mental health issues and providing accessible resources. The Clubhouse's commitment to fostering personal growth, empowerment, and recovery was evident in every conversation.

I firmly believe that raising awareness about mental health and ensuring access to resources is crucial for our community's overall well-being. Let us continue to build a community that prioritizes mental health, where every individual feels supported and valued. Together, we can make a positive impact on the lives of those in need.

Subject: Celebrating Academic Excellence - Mary K. Boyd and Kwame McDonald Scholarships

I attended a joyous celebration, the AALC (African American Leadership Council) and HQBCC (Hallie Q. Brown) Scholarships event. This remarkable occasion recognized the exceptional achievements of two young ladies from our very own community who have been awarded $1,000 scholarships each to support their higher education journeys.

The first recipient, will be attending the University of Minnesota, embarking on a path of academic excellence and personal growth. The second recipient, has been accepted into Howard University, where she will pursue her dreams and contribute to the vibrant community of scholars.

The AALC and HQBCC Scholarships are not just a testament to the talent and hard work of these remarkable young ladies but also a testament to the unwavering support and commitment of our community. These scholarships not only provide financial assistance but also recognize the dedication, resilience, and potential exhibited by our talented youth.

I would also like to express my gratitude to the AALC and HQBCC for their continuous efforts in supporting our youth and fostering their growth. Their dedication to education and community development is truly commendable, and their contributions are instrumental in shaping a brighter future for all.

As a community, let us continue to support and uplift our young scholars. Subject: Empowering Youth and Transforming Lives in St. Paul

Face to Face is a beacon of hope, providing comprehensive services and support to youth experiencing homelessness or who are at risk. As I entered their doors, I was immediately struck by the warm and inclusive atmosphere that enveloped the space. The dedication and compassion exhibited by the staff and volunteers were truly remarkable.

One of the core programs offered by Face to Face is their SafeZone Drop-In Center—a sanctuary where youth can find respite, access essential resources, and connect with caring individuals. Witnessing the vibrant activities, educational programs, and counseling sessions taking place within the center, I was moved by the transformative impact it has on the lives of our community's most vulnerable youth.

I had the opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations with several youth who have found refuge and support at Face to Face. Their stories were both heartbreaking and inspiring, reminding me of the immense resilience and strength within our community. Through Face to Face's intervention and guidance, these young individuals are not only finding stability but also reclaiming their dreams and building a brighter future.

In addition to their SafeZone Drop-In Center, Face to Face offers vital services such as medical and mental health care, housing support, employment assistance, and educational opportunities. The organization's holistic approach addresses the multifaceted needs of youth experiencing homelessness, empowering them to overcome challenges and thrive.

Learn and Earn Press Release Event

Learn & Earn

I am writing to share my experience of attending the recent Earn and Learn Initiative launch, which has pledged $10 million to support training for youth. This initiative is a fantastic effort towards empowering young people and providing them with the skills necessary to succeed in today's workforce. During the event, I had the opportunity to meet with young people and hear their stories of how they were able to benefit from the training and support provided by the Earn and Learn Initiative.

It was heartwarming to see their enthusiasm and determination to succeed in their chosen fields, and I was impressed by the dedication and commitment of the employers who were participating in the program. The Earn and Learn Initiative is designed to provide young people with the skills they need to secure high-quality, in-demand jobs. By participating in the program, young people have the opportunity to gain valuable work experience, develop new skills, and build professional networks that will serve them well throughout their careers. At the same time, employers benefit from a pool of talented, motivated workers who are eager to learn and contribute to their organizations.

I am proud to support the Earn and Learn Initiative, as it is an important step towards addressing the skills gap that exists in many industries. By working together with employers, educators, and community leaders, we can help to bridge this gap and empower young people to achieve their full potential. In closing, I would like to express my gratitude to all those who are involved in the Earn and Learn Initiative. Your dedication and commitment to supporting youth in our community are truly inspiring. I am confident that this initiative will have a positive impact on the lives of young people and the broader community.

Subject: A Joyful Community Gathering

What a delightful experience I had during my recent visit to the Desnoyer Park community gathering. It was a heartwarming occasion filled with good food, laughter, and a strong sense of community.

The most cherished part of the day was undoubtedly the time spent connecting and sharing with the community. Conversations flowed freely, as old friends caught up and new acquaintances were made. I had the pleasure of engaging in discussions on a wide range of topics, from neighborhood initiatives and upcoming events to the joys and challenges of everyday life. The bonds forged during such gatherings are the foundation of a strong and resilient community.

I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to Marita Bujold who organized and contributed to the Desnoyer Park community gathering. Your hard work and dedication in creating an inclusive and welcoming event are truly commendable. It is through the collective efforts of our community members that we can create spaces where everyone feels valued and connected. Keystone Foodshelf Groundbreaking

The Keystone Food Shelf has been a beacon of hope and support for our community for decades. Its mission to combat hunger and food insecurity has positively impacted the lives of countless individuals and families in need. To further expand their services and enhance their reach, the construction of a new facility had been in the pipeline for quite some time. Keystone Food Shelf has been a crucial lifeline for those facing tough circumstances.

A symbolic groundbreaking ceremony took place, marking the official start of the construction process. As shovels hit the ground, it symbolized the breaking of barriers and the promise of a brighter future for those in need. It was a deeply emotional moment that highlighted the power of unity in achieving positive change.

As I look forward to the completion of the new facility, I also celebrate the resilience of our community and the compassion that binds us together. The Keystone Food Shelf will continue to serve as a vital resource for many that include wrap around services, fostering a sense of hope, dignity, and support during challenging times.
