Earn up to $300 in gift cards when fully vaccinated
Residents who are 12 to 17 can receive up to $300 in gift cards with vaccine incentives now being offered by the state and Ramsey County, if they receive both first and second doses between Oct. 18 and Nov. 30.
In addition to a $50 per shot gift card available when you are vaccinated at a Saint Paul – Ramsey County Public Health operated clinic, the state of Minnesota has launched "Kids Deserve a Shot," a vaccine incentives program rewarding residents 12-17 years old for completing their COVID-19 vaccine series.
The state incentives include a $200 Visa gift card for 12-17-year-olds who start and complete their vaccine series over the next six weeks, and five drawings of $100,000 Minnesota college scholarships for any Minnesotan 12-17 years old with a complete vaccine series.
Gift cards from the county are available at our clinics, while supplies last, and given at the time you are vaccinated. Gift cards are not available for booster shots. Gift cards from the state are available through their website.

Free COVID-19 testing throughout Twin Cities metro
The state of Minnesota offers free testing sites for all Minnesotans, with several locations in and near Ramsey County. Most sites offer saliva (PCR) tests. Some sites now offer rapid antigen tests as well.
- Testing is free and open to everyone.
- Saliva PCR tests are recommended for people with or without symptoms, with results in 24 to 72 hours.
- Rapid antigen tests are recommended for people with symptoms, with results in one to three hours.
- Appointments and walk-ins available.

Ramsey County offering Pfizer booster shots
Ramsey County is offering Pfizer booster shots at our clinics. Booster shots are available by appointment only. You can get your booster from us even if you got your initial two shots somewhere else.
COVID-19 vaccine booster shots are available for the following people who received both doses of the Pfizer vaccine at least six months ago and are;

Booster shots of the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are currently being reviewed by the FDA and CDC approval is still underway. If you received one of these vaccines you are not eligible for a booster at this time.

Voting options for the Nov. 2 general election
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 2. All eligible voters can vote before Election Day by mail or in-person absentee, or in person at their polling place on Election Day.
All absentee and Election Day polling places have public health measures in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19, including social distancing, complimentary masks and hand sanitizer.
Vote before Election Day

In person: Beginning Tuesday, Oct. 26, five in-person absentee voting locations will be open with extended hours, including Saturday, Oct. 30. The Ramsey County Elections Office is already open for voting.

By mail: Voters who request a mail absentee ballot can return their ballot by mail or in person at a ballot return site. Ballots must be received by Nov. 2 in order to be accepted. Eight ballot return sites are currently open.

Child Tax Credit monthly payments - enroll by Nov. 15 if you did not have to file taxes
This year, as part of the American Rescue Plan, the federal Child Tax Credit (CTC) is significantly increased and half of it will be available through direct monthly payments.
- Your family can receive $250 - $300 a month for each child between now and December and the remaining amount when you file your taxes next year.
- Receiving the CTC will not affect any public benefits that you receive (SNAP, MFIP, etc.), your immigration status, or your ability to get a green card.
Automatic payments for tax filers
If you have filed tax returns for 2019 or 2020, or if you signed up to receive a stimulus check in 2020, the IRS will automatically send you monthly payments.
Enroll now if you didn't file taxes this year or last year
If you did not have to file your taxes this year or last year, and you did not register for Economic Impact Payments last year, you must sign up for the CTC payments.
