State rolls out vaccination timeline for next phases
Minnesota is continuing to immunize those at highest risk of getting COVID-19, as well as those most at risk of severe disease and complications if they become infected. The vaccine is currently available to adults aged 65+, health care workers, educators and child care staff.
Once 70% of the state’s seniors receive the vaccine, Minnesota will expand eligibility based on underlying health conditions, age and workplace exposure risk. The state’s timeline estimates that every Minnesotan who wants a shot will be able to get one by this summer. The Biden-Harris administration is now estimating there will be enough vaccine developed for all adults by the end of May, but it will take time beyond that for all who want it to get vaccinated.
Visit Who's Getting Vaccinated for the state of Minnesota’s detailed timeline with lists of high-risk medical conditions, underlying medical conditions and essential workers.

Questions answered about new single-dose vaccine
The first doses of a new vaccine have already arrived in Minnesota. The single-dose Johnson & Johnson shot, which was approved by federal regulators this weekend, will expand the amount of vaccine available and speed up the process to fully vaccinate more people.
Saint Paul – Ramsey County Public Health Medical Director Dr. Lynne Ogawa discussed the new vaccine, one of three now approved for use, during the COVID-19 update at the March 2 board of commissioners meeting.

Ramsey County houses homeless amid pandemic
MPR News recently published an article featuring Ramsey County's efforts to house homeless residents during the pandemic and an interview with Keith Lattimore, director of housing stability.
“Our partner shelters are putting everything they have on the table with extended hours,” Lattimore said. “There’s really no room to say ‘no.’”
The county has relied partly on $8 million in CARES Act funds from the federal government to accommodate the nearly 500 people that community outreach workers are currently able to track as unsheltered.
“Our goal is that maybe we get a second round of federal dollars and support or else we have to start scaling these [programs] down in the summer,” he said.
