Free masks available at Aug. 29 A Mask for Everyone event
Ramsey County residents and families in need of face masks can pick up free cloth masks at the A Mask for Everyone pickup event on Saturday, Aug. 29.
Date: August 29, 2020 Time: 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Location: Oxford Community Center 270 Lexington Pkwy N. Saint Paul, MN 55104 (Enter from Iglehart Avenue and Oxford Street)
Reserved masks
If you have already put in a request for a mask and received a confirmation from the county, your mask(s) will be reserved and available for pick up. This applies to all requests submitted through 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 24.
Drive-up and walk-in requests
Adult size masks will also be available on a first-come, first-served basis for people who did submit a request in advance. Five masks will be available per car.
Donations
A drive through lane will also be available for donations of unused homemade cloth masks.

Community Career Labs now open in Saint Paul and Ramsey County
Six Community Career Labs provide free reservation-based computer access, printing and copying, digital literacy programs, job search and resume assistance and other workforce support programs to job seekers and residents impacted by COVID-19. Labs are available at Ramsey County Service Centers in downtown Saint Paul, Maplewood and Roseville and at Saint Paul Public Library Dayton’s Bluff, Rice Street, Rondo Community Library and Sun Ray locations
All Ramsey County Service Centers are designed and operated in accordance with Public Health guidelines for COVID-19.

New Interactive Job Board
Ramsey County has launched the new Job Connect online job board to connect residents and employers during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. Job Connect has many unique features including the ability to search for jobs by transit accessibility, keyword and location using an interactive map. The job board highlights major industries in Ramsey County including healthcare, technology, manufacturing, construction and more.

Dislocated Worker services
Have you lost your job due to the COVID-19 pandemic? Help may be available through the county’s dislocated worker program. Services are designed to help people who have been laid off through no fault of their own get back to work as quickly as possible.
Services for eligible people include:
- Career planning and counseling.
- Job search assistance.
- Connections to employers hiring now.
- Counselor-approved training.
- Other support services.

COVID-19 Housing Assistance Program
A new assistance program through Minnesota Housing is now accepting applications from individuals and families impacted by COVID-19.
The program provides housing assistance payments to help prevent eviction, prevent homelessness, and maintain housing stability for eligible renters and homeowners. Local administrators will review applications from individuals and families requesting assistance, verify eligibility and process payments for eligible expenses on behalf of households.

TeckPak initiative launched to assist job seekers impacted by COVID-19
TechPak, a partnership between Tech Dump, Literacy Minnesota, Saint Paul Public Library and Ramsey County, is a new initiative bringing computers, internet and digital literacy training into the homes of Ramsey County residents who have experienced economic impacts due to COVID-19.
The packs include a refurbished laptop, a hotspot for internet access and quick start guides. Additionally, each computer comes pre-loaded with bookmarks to assist in job searches and trainings, and comes with a one-year warranty.
During the upcoming enrollment period, Aug. 31-Sept. 2, TechPaks will be awarded to eligible Ramsey County residents who have experienced job loss, reduced hours, change of household income or have other barriers due to COVID-19.

Throughout 2020, Ramsey County has been leading the development of a comprehensive economic development strategy centered around equitable growth and strengthening economic competitiveness. This work will lead to a plan that guides the county's economic and community development objectives over the next decade.

A varitety of take-and-make kits are available this fall for children and teens.
Read. Make. Do. Kits for kids
Read. Make. Do. kits are "programs in a bag" designed to keep kids learning, creating and staying active. Each kit offers a mix of activities, supplies, resource lists and books related to a topic.
Register for Read. Make. Do. kits through the library’s online events calendar. Online registration is limited to one kit per family.
