County beaches and playgrounds open
County swimming beaches and playgrounds are open, aligning with state and federal health guidelines. No lifeguards are on duty at any of the beaches and children must be actively supervised by an adult at all times. Playgrounds are not cleaned or sanitized and residents should use them at their own discretion.
Discovery Hollow at Tamarack Nature Center and the playgrounds at Battle Creek Regional Park and Lake Owasso County Park remain closed due to construction. Restrooms at high-traffic park locations are open and will be cleaned daily. Portable toilets have been set up at locations where restrooms have not reopened yet.
Both children and adults are encouraged to wear a mask at playgrounds and at beaches when not in the water. If a park is busy and you cannot maintain social distance, please visit another location or return at another time.
Ready, set, read! Summer break at home is designed to inspire and encourage children ages 4 to 19 to read, explore, create and discover - all summer long!
