Policy Advisory Committee will meet May 30

The Policy Advisory Committee will meet on Thursday, May 30 at 2:30 p.m. at the Maplewood Community Center. At this meeting, the committee will hear updates about ongoing work including public engagement, engineering and coordination with federal and local partners. The committee will also hear about resources offered by Metro Transit to help foster transit oriented development near future BRT stations.

As with all Policy Advisory Committee meetings, the meeting is open to the public and there will be an opportunity for public comment.

June "Tuesdays on the Trail" events seek input on Ramsey County rail right-of-way

Bruce Vento Trail public engagement

Every Tuesday in June, project staff will host pop-up events at different points along the Bruce Vento Trail to talk to residents, trail users and other community members.

A portion of the Rush Line BRT will operate in former railroad right-of-way owned by Ramsey County. Within this right-of-way, a bus-only roadway, known as a BRT guideway, will be co-located with a reconstructed Bruce Vento Trail.

Project staff want to hear from nearby residents, property owners, trail users and other stakeholders to gather input that will guide the design of the BRT guideway and trail to ensure the Bruce Vento Trail remains a safe and pleasant amenity for nearby communities.

Please join us for a series of “Tuesdays on the Trail” events along the Bruce Vento Trail during the month of June (weather permitting). At these events, you can talk with Rush Line BRT Project staff to learn more about Rush Line BRT and provide your input:

  • Tuesday, June 4: Intersection of Bruce Vento Trail and Atlantic Street, 4-6 p.m.
  • Tuesday, June 11: Intersection of Bruce Vento Trail and Larpenteur Avenue, 4-6 p.m.
  • Tuesday, June 18: Intersection of Bruce Vento Trail and Frost Avenue, 4-6 p.m.
  • Tuesday, June 25: Intersection of Bruce Vento Trail and Gervais Avenue, 4-6 p.m.

Any weather-related changes to Tuesdays on the Trail events will be communicated via this e-newsletter.

Another way to provide input about the Ramsey County rail right-of-way is through an online survey that will be launched next week and shared via this e-newsletter.

Residents share feedback at recent public engagement activities

10th Street Drop In Discussions

Downtown Saint Paul residents and business owners discussed the future 10th Street station at drop-in discussions held on May 8 and 9.

Community members have provided input to project staff at numerous meetings and events this month, including Cinco de Mayo - West Saint Paul, Weaver Elementary School's Parent Information Night and the Maplewood Bicycle Rodeo. Project staff also shared an update with residents of Realife Cooperative of Phalen Village and organized two drop-in discussions in downtown Saint Paul to discuss how the future 10th Street station can best serve the surrounding area.
