Deputies Respond to Shooting in Little Canada

69-year old victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries

Little Canada, Minnesota:  On October 25, 2018 at about 11:15 pm, Ramsey County Deputies responded to a shots-fired report in the 3000 block of Rice Street in Little Canada, Minnesota. Deputies located a 69-year-old male victim inside his residence with a gunshot wound; the victim was conscious, alert, and breathing.

The victim stated that he had gone outside to his driveway and saw an unknown suspect standing next to his vehicle. He described the suspect as a possible African-American male wearing a black mask over his face. When the victim verbally addressed the suspect, he stated he heard a gun "click" and was shot at 6 to 8 times. The victim stated that the suspect fled the scene on foot going northbound on Rice Street.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Deputies and a K9 unit deployed to search the area. The suspect has not been located.

The Sheriff's Office is actively investigating this incident and will release additional information when it becomes available.
