The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) and Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) have completed an update of the Intrusion Screening Values (ISVs) used in Vapor Intrusion Risk Evaluation (document aq1-36). The update was completed following a review of recent changes in toxicity values for select compounds (Benzene, Bromomethane, trans-1,2-Dichloroethylene, & Methyl Ethyl Ketone).

Along with the updated ISV table, MPCA and MDH also reviewed and updated the Intrusion Screening Value Technical Support Document (TSD; document c-rem3-12). Updates to the ISV include minor text clarifications as well as the addition of contaminant-specific information for Benzene, 1,3-Butadiene, 1,2-Dichloroethane, and Methyl Ethyl Ketone.

The updated TSD and ISV table can be found on the MPCA’s webpage here: https://www.pca.state.mn.us/waste/intrusion-screening-values. (Note, you may need to clear your web browser’s cache to ensure the updated files are downloaded properly)
