Camden Boat Launch Replacement Ahead of Schedule

Camden Boat Launch to be Replaced Sept. 24

The Camden boat launch, located at the south end of North Mississippi Park, is closed today, Sept. 24. The work to replace the boat launch that was originally scheduled to begin later this week is expected to be completed today, with an anticipated open date of Sept. 25.

The existing boat launch, accessible via Soo Avenue, has deteriorated due to age. During construction, those seeking to launch boats into the Mississippi River are encouraged to use the boat launch at Boom Island.

The Camden fishing dock, located adjacent to the boat launch, was removed in May after damage sustained due to the high water and strong current caused by heavy spring rainfall. The fishing pier located at the north end of North Mississippi Park, accessible via Lyndale Avenue, remains open.
