Dean Parkway Closure
Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board sent this bulletin at 09/21/2012 11:08 AM CDT
Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES) will close Dean Parkway at the Midtown Greenway bridge as it continues work on sewer improvements in the Calhoun-Isles area. Only one lane at a time will be closed, and flaggers will keep traffic moving in both directions in the open lane. The bike and pedestrian trail under the Midtown Greenway bridge will also be closed for two days. Closures will occur through the first week in October.
SOUTHBOUND DEAN PARKWAY: Intermittent closure of the southbound lane will occur September 21. September 24 and 25, it will be closed approximately between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Flaggers will control traffic to keep it flowing in both directions through the northbound lane. The roadway will be fully open in the evening.
NORTHBOUND DEAN PARKWAY: Intermittent closures will occur September 26 - 28. The northbound lane will be fully closed October 2 and 3 between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. and fully open by evening. Flaggers will guide traffic in each direction through the southbound lane.
DEAN PARKWAY TRAILS: the Dean Parkway bike and pedestrian trail, where it passes under the Midtown Greenway bridge, is expected to be closed approximately two days the week of October 1.
TWIN CITIES MARATHON: All roadway surfaces will be cleared and paved prior to the Twin Cities Marathon. Note that Dean Parkway will be closed Sunday, October 6 for the marathon.
29TH ST AT DEAN PARKWAY: 29th St is closed immediately west of Dean Parkway approximately through November 30. The posted detour for northbound traffic follows Dean Parkway to the connection with southbound Dean Parkway. From that point, detoured traffic turns left, passes the intersection with Cedar Lake Ave, and turns right at 28th St. The alley between Dean Parkway and Xerxes Ave provides access to Dean Ct, 29th St and the 2800 block of Xerxes Ave.
