It took a couple extra steps, but voters turned out in large numbers to vote at Central Presbyterian Church on Tuesday. Located in the Central Corridor light rail construction zone, voters simply followed the “Vote” signs to enter their polling place. Central Corridor Office Outreach staff put up about 25 signs throughout the construction zone to direct people to the Central Presbyterian Church. Walsh construction crews made sure there was clear pedestrian access to the church. According to precinct election judge Lauren Allen, voters were undeterred by the construction and turned out in large numbers. “Fifty voters were waiting at the polling when it opened and traffic was steady throughout the day,” said Allen.
Traffic and pedestrian modifications until further notice Businesses are open and accessible via the skyway system and sidewalks.
