The south side of the intersection of Bedford Street and University Avenue is reopening early in the week. Curb, gutter, tracks, and more are in place and ready to be greened up with landscaping and finishing touches! Please show your support to the local businesses in the area by taking time to stop and look at the progress and visit an establishment this week.
Construction Highlights for the Week of October 6 - 12
- Eastbound lane closure of Washington Avenue Bridge Tuesday, October 9 from Midnight - 6 a.m. -NEW
- Beginning mid-week, construction moves to the center of University Avenue at Huron Boulevard; single lane of traffic maintained in each direction on University Avenue between Ontario Street and 25th Avenue. See below for details. -NEW
- Intersection of 29th Avenue and 4th Street reopens early in the week. -NEW
- South side of Bedford Street and University Avenue intersection scheduled to reopen early in the week. -NEW
- South side of Malcolm Avenue and University Avenue intersection scheduled to close early in the week for approximately one month; detour via Bedford Street to Orlin Avenue. -NEW
- Northbound lane of Malcolm Avenue between University Avenue and 4th Street closes mid-week for approximately four weeks; detour via 27th Avenue or 30th Avenue to Fourth Street. Details on Malcolm work north of University below. -NEW
- Southbound 29th Avenue open from 4th Street to University Avenue. -NEW
- Full closure overnight of University Avenue section on Tuesday, October 9 and Wednesday, October 10; see below for details. -NEW

- Hiawatha Bicycle Path between West Bank and downtown Minneapolis over I-35W detoured through 2013 Web Link (pdf)
- Ramp from northbound I-35W to University of Minnesota East Bank open; only right-turns to the east are available.
- Westbound lanes of Washington Avenue from East Bank to downtown Minneapolis closed between 19th Avenue and Cedar Avenue; detour via northeast Cedar Avenue Ramp, through Cedar, to northwest Cedar Avenue Ramp.

Sidewalk Details
- Pedestrian/bike path on west side of East River Parkway closed under the Washington Avenue Bridge; pedestrians use the east sidewalk and bicyclists use roadway.
- North sidewalk of Washington Mall closed from Pleasant Street to Ford Hall; detour via sidewalk on north side of the pedestrian bridges.
- East and west crosswalks at intersection of Washington and Church Street closed; use pedestrian bridges near Coffman Union.
- East and west crosswalks at Union Street and Washington Avenue intersection closed; use temporary crosswalk west of intersection.
- South sidewalk of Washington Avenue between Pleasant Street and Church Street closed.
- South Washington Avenue sidewalk detoured for private construction between mid-block crossing east of Harvard Street and Walnut Street; follow posted detour.
