Public meeting on Planned Transit Service Changes Along Central Corridor

The plan will modify existing bus service to maximize connections with new Central Corridor (Green Line) light-rail service, which will begin operations in 2014. The following public meetings are scheduled:
June 19: 4-6:30pm - Brian Coyle Center
June 21: 4-6:30pm - Central Corridor Resource Center
June 23 - 1-3pm - Goodwill/Easter Seals
June 26: 11am - 1pm - Downtown Minneapolis Central Library
June 28: 4-6:30pm - Rondo Community Outreach Library

Highlights

  • Victoria on the north side of University will close to north-south traffic on June 18 for utility, roadway and track work. The closure is expected to last approximately four weeks. Avon will be open for full traffic movements during the closure. See attached map for more information. - NEW
  • Western on the south side of University is scheduled to reopen to north-south traffic at University early next week; Arundel will close to north-south traffic movements after Western reopens. - NEW
  • Park/Martin Luther King Junior Blvd. closed to north-south traffic at University. Use alternate routes. A pedestrian crossing is maintained at Park/MLK. - NEW
  • Expect a short closure of the I-94/35E commons the night of June 21 from midnight to 4 a.m. for Cedar Street Bridge work. - NEW

Upcoming work in the next few weeks; more details in the next week's update:

  • Traffic between Hamline and Griggs will switch to its final configuration, two lanes in each direction to the west end of University Avenue in the last week of June; watch for lane shifts.
