Waiting for your bus
B Line buses will only stop at designated stations. NexTrip signs at B Line stations show real-time arrival and departure information, so you’ll always know when your next bus is coming. Each station includes heat, lighting, seating, emergency phones, and security cameras.
Pay your fare before boarding
Beginning at 10 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, B Line customers must pay their fare at the station before boarding. This helps speed up trips for everyone. You can pay at a ticket machine at the station, use a Go-To Card or pass, or pay through the Metro Transit app. Once you’ve paid, board the B Line through any door and find a seat. Please keep your ticket or pass available. A police officer or TRIP agent may ask to see it to confirm your fare.
Remember to tap your Go-To Card again when transferring at other METRO stations, boarding regular-route buses, or riding an express bus. Please note a surcharge applies when transferring to an express bus. Fares are valid for unlimited rides within 2.5 hours of purchase.
A reminder that with the launch of the B Line on June 14, local bus routes 27, 38, and 72 will begin service on the same day to provide local transit access along parts of the corridor. Friday, June 13 is the last day of service on Route 21.

To support faster, more reliable bus travel during this year's I-94 construction, Metro Transit, in partnership with the City of St. Paul and Ramsey County, has installed a temporary westbound bus lane on Marshall Avenue between Wilder and Cretin avenues. The temporary bus lane will help reduce westbound transit delay from increased traffic on Marshall during I-94 construction. Signage has gone up and pavement markings are expected to be added when weather allows.
Parking is restricted on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Bikes and right turns are allowed. During these hours, approximately 40 spaces will be unavailable westbound between Cleveland and Cretin avenues. The temporary bus lane is expected to be in place until late 2025.
