Construction is active along Lake Street and Lagoon Avenue in Minneapolis, with major work currently between East Bde Maka Ska Parkway and 22nd Avenue.
Construction update newsletters and office hours will be paused for two weeks and resume July 19. Construction work forecasted in this newsletter will occur over the next two weeks.
Work forecasted in this update may be affected by severe weather. To keep on schedule, crews may be performing work on Saturdays in the coming weeks.

Separate from B Line and Lake Street improvements, CenterPoint Energy is updating its infrastructure and gas meters in some locations. CenterPoint Energy staff may contact residents and businesses about potential short-term gas outages as they upgrade equipment. For more information on CenterPoint’s work, view its project website.
Current closure information
- The south side of the intersection of Lagoon Avenue and Emerson Avenue, as well as Lagoon Avenue and Fremont Avenue continues to be closed.
- The south side of Lake Street and Holmes Avenue continues to be closed due to the CenterPoint Energy project. For more information on CenterPoint’s work, view its project website. This intersection is scheduled to reopen this weekend (June 29).
- The south lanes of Lagoon Avenue are closed from Dupont Avenue to East Bde Maka Ska Parkway, maintaining the north parking lane and one through lane in this section.
- The south side of Lake Street between East Bde Maka Ska Parkway and Dupont Avenue is currently closed, maintaining at least one lane in each direction for through traffic. The north side of Lake Street between Dupont and Blaisdell avenues is closed, maintaining at least one lane in each direction for through traffic. Lake/Lagoon and Dupont Avenue
- Crews completed underground fiber optic work as well as curb and gutter work, and began underground electrical work.
- The week of July 1, crews are scheduled to complete underground electrical work as well as pavement patching. This work includes the use of heavy machinery, and impacts such as vibrations, loud noise, and dust and debris are to be expected.
Lagoon Avenue and Emerson Avenue

- North side work begins the week of July 8.
Lake Street and Irving Avenue
- Crews continue concrete work at this intersection. This work includes the use of heavy machinery, and impacts such as vibrations, loud noise, and dust and debris are to be expected.

Lake Street and Humboldt Avenue

- Crews completed pavement patching and began underground electrical work at the northwest corner of the intersection.

Lake Street and Portland, Park, Chicago, 14th, 15th avenues
