A rendering of the eastbound station at Marshall & Cleveland
First METRO B Line shelter installations are scheduled for the week of September 11
Installation of shelters and other station amenities will begin at some stations as early as the week of September 11.
The first stations scheduled to have shelters installed are Marshall & Cleveland and Marshall & Fairview.
-
Shelter installations do not require road closures but will require the use of a small crane in the sidewalk/parking area and are usually completed within one working day
-
Crews will be on site to detour traffic or pedestrians for any temporary impacts to sidewalks or travel lanes
-
Shelter installations are not as loud as other forms of construction activities, but may have sounds of drilling, crews communicating, and large vehicle noises
-
Shelters will not be available for customer use immediately upon installation and will be fenced off. Crews will need to complete several tasks to ensure shelters are safe and ready for regular route service. Shelters are currently planned to be available later this year as the first phase of construction is completed.
