Following two years of planning and public engagement, the Metropolitan Council approved the METRO F Line Final Corridor Plan on Aug. 9. This action finalizes F Line station locations, determining the corner of the intersection where each platform will be placed. Approval of the plan allows the project to move into the engineering phase, where specific details including the precise location of shelters and other amenities within station areas will be determined.
Throughout 2022 and 2023, we engaged the public and asked for feedback on the Corridor Plan. Metro Transit received more than 850 comments during two comment periods in the fall and spring. To read more about the F Line station locations and feedback we received during the planning process, explore the Final Corridor Plan on our website.
Over the next two years, station and platform layout designs will be finalized for construction, which is planned to begin in 2025.
Field survey work planned to begin in September
As a first step in designing F Line stations, Metro Transit has contracted with a firm to assist with field surveying. Our survey contractor is expected to begin surveying planned F Line station locations in September.
To complete this work, surveyors gather information about the existing space and utilities below the ground, to create accurate measurements for designs and to avoid foreseeable problems before construction. Over the next few weeks, you may see trucks and people in the area conducting these activities.
