May 1: Ruth Street bridge will close between Old Hudson Road and Suburban Avenue.

2023 Construction Overview
Downtown St. Paul highlights
Upcoming:
- Next week on May 4 and May 5, expect lane shifts on 6th Street between Cedar Street and Minnesota Street while crews locate utilities.
- Starting May 15, expect construction activities on the north side of 6th Street and the south side of 5th Street between Cedar Street and Minnesota Street in Downtown St. Paul. Crews will be relocating utilities and building platform foundations. Expect lane closures in these areas.
Traffic Impacts:
- Expect temporary sidewalk walkways to remain on 6th Street between Cedar Street and Minnesota Street until civil construction begins.
East St. Paul highlights
Upcoming: Road closure
- Starting Monday, May 1, Ruth Street closes over I-94 and the westbound I-94 entrance ramp at Ruth Street closes. Site preparations in the Ruth Street area are underway ahead of the closure. The closure will continue through fall 2023. Follow the posted detour route along Old Hudson Road, White Bear Avenue, and Suburban Avenue.
- Starting Monday, May 1, crews install a signal pole at the Mounds Boulevard and 3rd Street intersection in St. Paul.
- Expect installation of the clay liner at the stormwater pond area near the intersection of Griffith Street and Johnson Parkway to resume in the next few weeks.

Traffic Impacts:
- The eastern half of Hudson Road between Cypress Street and Earl Street is closed for the next few weeks, including the Earl Street and Hudson Road intersection.
- Earl Street is closed over I-94 between Hudson Road and Pacific Street. The closure continues until early summer 2023. Follow the posted detour route along Burns Avenue, Johnson Parkway, and 3rd Street.
- Westbound I-94 shoulder closed and temporary ramp shift at Etna St.
- Westbound I-94 right lane and shoulder closed between Highway 61 and Mounds Boulevard. This closure continues through fall 2023.

Ongoing:
- At Earl Street and Hudson Road in east St. Paul, crews strip topsoil, excavate and construct retaining walls, install storm and sanitary sewers, and continue work on the Earl Street bridge.
- Crews continue building a new bridge near the Etna Station site.
- Crews continue to remove sections of noise wall, guardrail, and light poles along Hudson Road between Mounds Boulevard and Johnson Parkway in St. Paul.
- Retaining wall construction continues at Mounds Boulevard and 3rd Street in St. Paul.

Maplewood/Landfall/Oakdale highlights
Ongoing:
- Private utility relocation work continues along 4th Street in Oakdale.
- Construction continues for the future BRT roadway, bridge abutments, and private utility work near the I-94/I-494/I-694 interchange area.
- Crews continue underground utility construction in Oakdale.
Traffic impacts:
- The Helmo Avenue and Hudson Boulevard intersection in Oakdale is closed.
Upcoming:
- Upcoming closure on 4th Street between Helmo Avenue and Hudson Boulevard in Oakdale for private utility work in the next few weeks.
- Crews continue pouring concrete for bridge foundations, pile driving, and constructing bridge abutments at the north side of I-94 east of I-694.

Woodbury highlights
Traffic Impacts:
- Bielenberg Drive between Hudson Road and Guider Drive is reduced to one lane in each direction on the east side.
- The Hudson Road and Bielenberg Drive intersection is closed. Follow the posted detour route on Tamarack Road and Radio Drive.
Ongoing:
- Storm sewer installation continues moving south from the Hudson Road and Bielenberg Drive intersection.
- Private utility relocation work continues along Bielenberg Drive in Woodbury.
- Expect weekday sidewalk closures on the east side of Bielenberg Drive near Tamarack Road over the next few weeks in Woodbury.
- Crews construct a new retaining wall on the west side of Bielenberg Drive at the north end of the roadway near Hudson Road.
