Route Alternatives for the Purple Line
The METRO Purple Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Project is exploring several locations for the line’s northern most stop, including Interstate 35E (I-35E) and County Road E Park-and-Ride in Vadnais Heights, Maplewood Mall Transit Center and most recently, Century College in White Bear Lake at the college’s request.
The Purple Line’s Corridor Management Committee (CMC) discussed these options at their meeting on June 17. Presentation slides can be found on the project website. At the meeting, committee members expressed interest in advancing study to add Century College as an option for Purple Line BRT's northernmost stop as well as suspending advancement of the current route to downtown White Bear Lake as a terminus. All options could potentially include a connecting bus service to downtown White Bear Lake if local funding is secured.
The public will be invited to share feedback on all options later this summer.
