Workers prepare the southbound platform area at the future Chicago & 24th St. station
Five stations are planned for construction in 2022. Construction work began on April 18 and will continue throughout the year. Weekly updates tracking the start of construction at the remaining stations and general construction progress will continue as this year’s construction season occurs.

The week of June 6, crews began work on the concrete station areas. Next week, crews will continue this work and remove traffic control items by June 17.

Beginning in December 2022, several changes will be made to the D Line corridor and connecting bus routes:

Route 5 "F" branch on 26th Ave. N. will be eliminated.

Route 721 will no longer operate south of Brooklyn Center Transit Center (BCTC)

Route 724 trips south of BCTC, which are currently suspended, will be permanently eliminated.

Route 5 will end at 56th St. and Chicago Ave. and will operate every 30-60 minutes.

Routes 39 and 133, which are currently suspended, will be eliminated.
Osseo Rd. construction starting Spring 2023
Hennepin County plans to reconstruct Osseo Road from 44th Avenue to 49th Avenue starting in 2023. Local routes and METRO C and D lines will detour during Osseo Rd. construction. After construction is completed, routes will serve a new Osseo & 47th Avenue Station. Route 5 will end at 47th Ave. & Osseo Rd. and will not serve BCTC.
